The Father
The Father

by Florian Zeller translated by Christopher Hampton
Directed by Suzanne Harris

1st to 8th June 2019

“I feel as if I’m losing all my leaves”

André is in his 80s; he is quick with his jokes and is used to being on top of conversations and relationships. But things are getting strange: his watch keeps disappearing, his daughter’s stories don’t quite add up, his furniture changes and there are strangers in his flat.
This exciting and extraordinary play cuts through the boundaries of reality and illusion. It is intensely funny and deeply moving.

The papers called it “an unqualified triumph”. It won Best Play from the prestigious Molière Awards (2014) and The Academy Theatre Awards (2016).

“An enthralling piece of theatre”.
